Pallet Truck Training: Z Group

The ITSSAR-accredited pallet truck training course (Z Group) delivered by SID Training is provided exclusively through on-site training at your premises, allowing operators to train using your own pallet trucks within a real working environment. 

Pallet trucks are widely utilized across warehouse, logistics, retail, and industrial settings for the safe movement and positioning of palletized goods. While often considered straightforward equipment, improper operation can still result in workplace accidents, injuries, and damage to goods or property. 

This course combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to ensure operators are well-versed in safe operating procedures, workplace responsibilities, and how to minimize risks during day-to-day pallet handling tasks. 

Particular emphasis is placed on safe maneuvering, load stability, correct handling techniques, and maintaining awareness in busy work environments. Operators will also learn safe practices for working around pedestrians, vehicles, racking systems, and confined areas, akin to what is taught in HGV training courses. 

Pre-use inspections are covered in detail, ensuring operators can identify faults and complete essential safety checks before operating the equipment. 

Training is tailored to the specific type of pallet truck used on your site, ensuring relevance to your operational requirements and working environment. 

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognized throughout the UK and within the warehouse and logistics sectors, solidifying their skills in pallet truck training.

Throughout the course, delegates will develop a strong understanding of: 

- Safe operation of pallet trucks during pallet truck training 

- Operator responsibilities and workplace safety awareness, including the importance of forklift training 

- Daily pre-use inspections and fault reporting procedures 

- Safe load handling and stability principles relevant to HGV training courses 

- Correct manoeuvring techniques in confined areas 

- Safe travelling whilst laden and unladen 

- Awareness of workplace hazards and pedestrian safety 

- Correct loading, unloading, and positioning of palletised goods 

- Manual handling awareness and safe working practices 

- End-of-shift procedures and safe shutdown of equipment, as part of our on-site training.

All candidates will complete both a theoretical test and a practical skills assessment as part of their forklift training at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognized across the UK and widely accepted within the industry, including for HGV training courses and on-site training programs such as pallet truck training.
