Vehicle Banksman Training Course

The QUALSAFE-accredited banksman training course delivered by SID Training is provided exclusively on-site at your premises. This allows operatives to train within a real working environment relevant to your site traffic and vehicle operations.

Vehicle banksmen play a vital role in maintaining safety during vehicle manoeuvring activities, especially in areas with restricted visibility or where pedestrians, structures, and other vehicles are present.

This on-site banksman training combines theoretical knowledge and practical training to ensure operatives understand safe signaling procedures, workplace responsibilities, and how to minimize risks during reversing and manoeuvring operations.

Particular emphasis is placed on communication methods, blind spot awareness, safe positioning, and maintaining clear exclusion zones during vehicle movements.

Operatives will also gain insights into site traffic risks, pedestrian safety, and the importance of effective coordination between drivers and banksmen.

Pre-use and workplace safety checks are covered in detail, ensuring operatives learn to identify hazards and maintain safe working areas before vehicle movements begin.

Training is tailored to your site layout and operational requirements, ensuring relevance to real workplace activities and vehicle movements. 

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive a QUALSAFE-accredited Certificate of Training, recognized across the UK, including in the construction, industrial, logistics, and warehouse sectors.

Throughout the banksman training course, delegates will develop a strong understanding of: Safe vehicle banksman procedures, operator and banksman responsibilities, workplace safety awareness and hazard identification, standard hand signalling and communication techniques, safe positioning during vehicle manoeuvring operations, understanding blind spots and restricted visibility risks, safe reversing and manoeuvring procedures, maintaining exclusion zones and pedestrian safety, working safely around vehicles, loading areas, and site hazards, and maintaining safe working practices throughout vehicle operations. This on-site banksman training is designed to ensure participants are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for safe operations, and is delivered as QUALSAFE-accredited training.

All candidates will complete both a theoretical test and a practical skills assessment at the end of the on-site banksman training course. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive a QUALSAFE-accredited Certificate of Training, which is recognised across the UK and widely accepted within the industry.
