Pivot Steer Forklift Training

The ITSSAR-accredited training course for Pivot Steer Forklift Trucks (P Group), delivered by SID Training, is provided exclusively as on-site training courses at your premises. This allows operators to gain hands-on experience using your own equipment within a real working environment.

Pivot steer forklift trucks are engineered for excellent manoeuvrability in narrow aisles and confined warehouse operations. Their unique articulated steering system enables operators to transport and stack loads efficiently while maximising available storage space.

This forklift training course combines essential theoretical knowledge with practical training to ensure operators grasp safe operating procedures, understand workplace responsibilities, and learn how to minimise risks when working with pivot steer equipment.

Particular emphasis is placed on articulated steering control, safe load handling, manoeuvring in tight warehouse aisles, and maintaining stability while travelling and stacking loads at height.

Operators will also gain insight into how pivot steer trucks differ from traditional counterbalance forklifts, along with the heightened awareness needed when operating in restricted environments.

Pre-use inspections are thoroughly covered, ensuring operators can identify faults and perform necessary safety checks before engaging in operations. 

Training is customised to the specific type of pivot steer forklift truck utilized on your site, and the certification reflects the category of equipment the operator has been trained on. 

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised throughout the UK and valued within the warehouse and logistics sectors.

Throughout the accredited training course, delegates will develop a strong understanding of: safe operation of pivot steer forklift trucks; operator responsibilities and workplace safety awareness; daily pre-use inspections and fault reporting procedures; understanding articulated steering systems and pivot steering control; safe load handling and stability principles; travelling and maneuvering safely within narrow aisles and confined warehouse environments; accurate load placement and stacking techniques; working safely around pedestrians, racking systems, and workplace hazards; safe operation whilst laden and unladen; and end-of-shift procedures and safe shutdown of equipment. This forklift training is essential for those involved in warehouse operations, ensuring competence and safety in various on-site training courses and HGV training scenarios.

All candidates will complete both a theoretical test and a practical skills assessment at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ACCREDITED training certificate in forklift training, issued by ITSSAR, which is recognised across the UK and widely accepted within the warehouse operations industry.
