Transportable Forklift Training (Moffett)

The ITSSAR-accredited Moffett training course delivered by SID Training is provided exclusively on-site at your premises, allowing operators to train using your own equipment in a real working environment. 

Transportable forklift trucks, commonly known as Moffetts, are designed to be mounted to the rear of delivery vehicles, enabling drivers and operators to load and unload materials efficiently without needing additional lifting equipment on-site. 

These machines are widely utilized in logistics, builders’ merchants, construction supply, and delivery operations, where flexibility and independent load handling are crucial. 

This course combines theoretical knowledge with practical training, ensuring operators grasp safe operating procedures, workplace responsibilities, and methods to minimize risks during loading, unloading, and transportation activities. 

Special emphasis is placed on vehicle mounting and demounting procedures, safe load handling, stability principles, and operating safely on various ground conditions commonly encountered during deliveries. 

Operators will also learn how transportable forklift trucks differ from conventional forklifts, including visibility considerations, handling uneven terrain, and working safely around delivery vehicles, pedestrians, and public areas. 

Pre-use inspections are thoroughly covered to ensure operators can identify faults and perform essential safety checks before operating the equipment. 

Training is tailored to the specific type of transportable forklift truck used on your site, and certification will correspond to the category of equipment the operator has been trained on. 

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognized across the UK and within the transport, logistics, and construction sectors, affirming their expertise in on-site forklift courses.

Throughout the Moffett training course, delegates will develop a strong understanding of: 

Safe operation of transportable forklift trucks (Moffetts) 

Operator responsibilities and workplace safety awareness 

Daily pre-use inspections and fault reporting procedures 

Safe mounting and demounting procedures from delivery vehicles 

Load handling and stability principles on varying terrain 

Travelling safely whilst laden and unladen 

Safe manoeuvring in confined delivery and site environments 

Working safely around vehicles, pedestrians, and public areas 

Understanding load centres and safe lifting techniques 

End-of-shift procedures and safe shutdown of equipment. 

These comprehensive on-site forklift courses ensure that participants are equipped with essential skills for safe and efficient operations.

All candidates will complete both a theoretical test and a practical skills assessment at the end of the course, including Moffett training for on-site forklift courses. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and widely accepted within the industry.
